At Pool Personnel we strive to provide the best possible summer work experience. Employment typically runs Memorial Day through Labor Day although some of our facilities do open prior to Memorial Day and some are open for a week or two after.

Most of our candidates for lifeguard positions come from the surrounding area. We do not seek international employees as is commonly done at larger companies. We find that by providing excellent leadership at each facility, the opportunity to grow, competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and the possibility for promotion, we typically experience less than 20% turnover overall.

All employees must be certified in lifesaving, first aid, and CPR. Pool operators, assistant managers and managers must also be certified as Montgomery County, MD pool operators. We provide training and certification in lifesaving, first aid, and CPR, and typically arrange for an outside contractor to come to us to train candidates as pool operators.

All employees are required to use email to communicate with the manager for scheduling purposes or make other arrangements in person if that is not possible. Employees are required to be in uniform while at work, which means having on a minimum of one article of clothing identifying themselves as a lifeguard. Each new employee is given, at no cost to the employee, one bathing suit, one pair of shorts, one t-shirt, one visor, and one item of warmer gear, such as a jacket or sweatshirt.
